EasyCAN Forum Terms of Service

Effective date: 04.09.2026

These Terms govern the free use of the EasyCAN Forum, account registration, publication of content, moderation, notices and complaints. They are made available free of charge in a form that can be saved and reproduced.

1. Operator and contact

  1. The forum is operated by Andrzej Michalak EasyCAN, a sole trader entered in CEIDG, Polish tax ID (NIP) 8262031661, business register number (REGON) 545572898, referred to as the “Operator”. Use of the forum is free of charge.
  2. Operator and complaint address: ul. Ekologiczna 8/48, 02-798 Warszawa, Poland.
  3. Contact for all forum-related matters: ebt25@easycan.pl, telephone +48 455 400 025.
  4. The forum is available at https://easycan.pl/forum/.

2. Scope of services

  1. The Operator allows users signed in to an active account to browse topics and posts free of charge.
  2. After an account is created and activated, a user can also create topics and publish replies.
  3. Account-related services also include email verification, authentication, password recovery and technical account messages.
  4. Changing the PL/EN language changes the forum interface and messages. Topics and posts are shared by both language versions.
  5. The forum is not an official vehicle-manufacturer diagnostic service or technical support service.

3. Technical requirements and risks

  1. Using the forum requires an Internet-connected device, a current browser supporting HTTPS and cookies, and — for registration — a working email address.
  2. Disabling the essential session cookie may prevent authentication, posting and proper form protection.
  3. Internet use involves risks including malware, phishing, password compromise and impersonation. Users should use a unique password, protect their credentials and avoid suspicious files and links.

4. Registration and accounts

  1. Creating an account requires a unique email address, a display name and a password, and acceptance of these Terms.
  2. A display name may be a pseudonym, but it must not mislead, unlawfully impersonate another person or infringe another person's rights.
  3. After submitting the form, the user confirms their email address. The account becomes active after administrator approval.
  4. An administrator may refuse approval where the registration details or circumstances indicate spam, automated registration, attempted abuse or an intention to breach these Terms.
  5. Users are responsible for keeping their password confidential and for activity performed through their account. Suspected account compromise must be reported promptly to the Operator.
  6. Accounts must not be shared to bypass restrictions, and another person's credentials must not be used.
  7. The account-service agreement is concluded for an indefinite period when the account is activated. A user may end it at any time by requesting account deletion through the contact address.
  8. A user who does not have full legal capacity should use the forum with the consent of their legal representative where such consent is required by law.

5. Rules for user content

  1. Content should relate to EasyCAN, diagnostics, electronics or vehicle communication and should be written clearly and constructively.
  2. Users may publish only lawful content for which they hold the necessary rights.
  3. Users must not publish content that:
  • infringes the law, copyright, trade marks, personality rights, privacy, confidentiality or data-protection rights;
  • contains threats, incitement to violence or hatred, harassment, discrimination, defamation, pornography or the sexual exploitation of minors;
  • discloses another person's personal or confidential data without a proper basis;
  • facilitates theft, unlawful access, circumvention of security measures, unsafe use of a vehicle or intentional deception;
  • contains malware, phishing, harmful instructions, spam, repeatedly duplicated material or unauthorised advertising;
  • disrupts the forum, attempts to bypass its limits or safeguards, or uses automated requests in a way that places an excessive load on the service.

Before publishing screenshots, logs or files, users should check that they do not contain email addresses, serial numbers, VINs, keys, passwords or other information they do not intend to disclose to other forum users. Although access is restricted to signed-in users, recipients may copy or further share content they receive.

6. Rights in user content

  1. Users retain their rights in their own content.
  2. By publishing content, a user grants the Operator a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to technically store, reproduce, format and make it available to signed-in users and administrators to the extent necessary to operate and present the forum.
  3. The licence continues while the content is available on the forum and, after removal, only for the period needed to remove technical or backup copies or meet legal obligations.
  4. Topics and posts are not made available to people who are not signed in and are not intended for search-engine indexing. Technical access controls cannot, however, prevent an authorised user from retaining a copy or sharing content further.

7. Moderation

  1. New topics require administrator approval. Replies in approved topics are published without prior approval but remain subject to subsequent moderation.
  2. Substantive content moderation is performed by a person. Technical safeguards may limit registration, authentication and posting attempts, but the forum does not use algorithms to assess opinions or provide personalised content recommendations.
  3. Where content or conduct breaches the law or these Terms, an administrator may refuse a topic, hide or remove content, lock a topic, block an account or delete it.
  4. The administrator considers the nature, severity, frequency and effects of a breach when selecting a measure. Urgent security matters or illegal content may require immediate action.
  5. Where practicable and required, the user will receive information about a material restriction and its principal reason at the email address associated with the account.
  6. A moderation decision may be appealed within 14 days by sending a reasoned request to the contact address. Appeals are reviewed by a person, generally within 14 days.

8. Reporting illegal content

  1. Anyone may report content they consider illegal through the Report illegal content page and by emailing ebt25@easycan.pl.
  2. A notice should include: an explanation of why the content is illegal, the exact URL and information needed to locate it, the notifier's name and email address, and a statement that the notice is made in good faith and that the information is accurate and complete. The notifier's details may be omitted where the law permits an anonymous notice.
  3. Notices are assessed promptly, objectively and without automated decision-making. If contact details are provided, the notifier will receive confirmation and information about the decision unless disclosure is prohibited by law.

9. Account and content deletion

  1. A request to delete an account or the user's own content can be sent to the contact address, identifying the account email and the relevant content.
  2. When an account is deleted, its email address and display name are replaced with neutral data. Topics and posts may remain under “Deleted user” to preserve the continuity of discussions unless there is a basis for their removal.
  3. The Operator may retain limited data where necessary to meet a legal obligation, preserve database integrity, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

10. Technical and automotive information

  1. User content is informational and may contain errors. It is not a professional diagnosis, repair instruction or guarantee of a particular result.
  2. Before changing a vehicle or control-unit configuration, users should verify the information, create a backup, follow manufacturer documentation and safety rules, and use a suitably qualified person where required.
  3. Users must not take actions that could breach the law, vehicle safety, anti-theft protections, road-traffic rules or third-party rights.

11. Availability and liability

  1. The Operator takes reasonable steps to operate the forum safely and correctly but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or preservation of every item of content. Interruptions may result from maintenance, failures, provider actions or circumstances outside the Operator's control.
  2. The Operator does not substantively approve every reply before publication. After obtaining a credible notice of illegal content or a breach of these Terms, the Operator will take appropriate action in accordance with the law.
  3. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability or user rights that cannot be excluded under mandatory law.

12. Complaints

  1. A complaint about the operation of the forum can be sent to ebt25@easycan.pl.
  2. A complaint should include an email address for the response, a description of the issue, the date it occurred and, where possible, the relevant URL and the requested resolution.
  3. Complaints are generally reviewed within 14 days of receipt of a complete submission. The response is sent by email.
  4. After completing the complaint procedure, a consumer may seek assistance from a Polish consumer ombudsman, the Trade Inspection authority or an authorised ADR entity listed at polubowne.uokik.gov.pl. The Operator does not commit to participate in a particular ADR procedure unless required by law or agreed in the individual case.

13. Privacy

The processing of personal data, retention periods and the essential session cookie are explained in the Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to these Terms

  1. The Operator may amend these Terms for important reasons, including changes in law, forum features, security rules, technical providers or moderation practices.
  2. Registered users will be informed of a material change on the forum or by email with appropriate advance notice, unless an immediate change is necessary for legal or security reasons.
  3. A user who does not accept a change may stop using the forum and request account deletion before the change takes effect.

15. Final provisions

  1. Polish law applies to matters not covered by these Terms, without prejudice to mandatory rights a user may have under applicable law.
  2. The Polish and English versions describe the same rules. In the event of a linguistic discrepancy, the Polish version is the primary version unless the law provides otherwise.
